Have you ever looked around at your life and thought, “I should feel grateful… but I just feel tired?”
Have you caught yourself going through the motions, wondering where your fire went?
If so—you’re not alone. And you’re not broken.
You’ve just lost your spark.
And the good news? It’s not gone. It’s just waiting for a little hope to light it again.
How to find with your purpose
It’s a quiet crisis no one seems to talk about. As a therapist, I’ve worked with countless people who show up for everyone else—but can’t remember the last time they felt lit up from within.
They’re not lazy. They’re not ungrateful.
They’re exhausted. Emotionally, spiritually, and sometimes physically.
This state doesn’t always come with tears. Sometimes it shows up as:
- Chronic overwhelm
- A loss of joy in things that once brought happiness
- A voice that says, “Why bother?”
- A deep yearning to feel anything again
This is what I call a hope deficit.
And the antidote isn’t just more coffee or another self-help book.
The antidote is a hope reset.
What Is a Hope Reset?
A hope reset is an intentional pause—a gentle recalibration to help you reconnect with what matters, what’s possible, and what’s still inside you.
It’s not about becoming a new person overnight.
It’s about returning to yourself—the self that still dreams, even if quietly.
5 Gentle Steps to Reignite Your Spark
- Acknowledge That You’ve Lost It
This is the bravest part. Say it out loud:
“I’ve lost my spark.”
You don’t have to pretend everything is fine. Naming the emptiness is how we begin to fill it.
Ask: “What Did I Used to Love?”
Not what you should love. What made you feel alive—even if it was silly or simple?
- Music?
- Dance?
- Writing?
- Reading on the porch?
Your spark is usually hiding in the corners of who you used to be before the world wore you down.
- Unplug from What’s Draining You
Sometimes it’s not that you’re missing motivation—it’s that you’re too drained to access it.
Take a short break from:
- Social media
- People who constantly need something from you
- Comparison traps
Create even 10 minutes of space each day to hear your own voice again. If you find yourself really struggling to do this, then you need this as a practice more than anyone. This workbook I created will help you with how to get going and it’s fun!
- Move Toward What Feels Light
This is my rule of thumb: if it feels like light, follow it.
Maybe that’s a long bath.
Maybe it’s a walk with music.
Maybe it’s saying no without guilt.
You don’t need a full plan. You just need a next step toward warmth.
- Practice Your Hoping Skills
Hope isn’t wishful thinking—it’s a skill you grow.
Every time you:
- Speak kindly to yourself
- Set a tiny goal and take one step
- Ask for support
- Imagine something better
You are practicing hope.
And with practice, your spark begins to return.
This is How You Can Begin Again—Today
You don’t need to be perfect to be powerful.
You don’t need to be fearless to move forward.
And you don’t need to wait for motivation to show up before you choose you again.
Let this moment be your hope reset.
Let it be the quiet decision to believe in your own comeback.
Because your spark is not gone. It’s just resting.
And hope—real, steady, soul-deep hope—will bring it back to life.
